Hungarian War of Independence in 1848

Dear Our Friends,

We have prepared together with our students from class 7 a and b a PPS file about 15 March 1848. It was a background of our script. Now, we are going to show some of the main pictures.

Among the photos you are going to find important people of the war of independence and also some famous places, buildings and symbols in connection with the commemoration.

Best wishes,
Diana, Tünde and the children:)

15 March in Hungary

The Hungarian Revolution and War of Independece in 1848 was one of many revolutions that year and closely linked to other revolutions of 1848 in the Habsburg areas. The revolution in the Kingdom of Hungary grew into a war for independence from Habsburg rule.

Many of its leaders and participants, including Lajos Kossuth, István Széchenyi, Sándor Petőfi, József Bem, are among the most respected national figures in Hungarian history, and the anniversary of the revolution's outbreak, on March 15, is one of Hungary's three national holidays.

In our school we celebrate this glorious day of our history. On the 11 March all students from the 7 classes took part a commemoration and told about the events. Also they were prepared with some important poems and quotations written by Sándor Petőfi, Dániel Berzsenyi and Albert Wass.

Please, have a look some of the photos which was taken in our celebration.
